Wellington Place is a 22-acre scheme of multipurpose commercial, retail and residential space in the heart of Leeds City Centre. Hoard-it supplied 176 LM of construction site hoarding on Phase 1 and 120LM on Phase 2 to Wates.
This project is designed to transform a neighbourhood of Leeds city centre into a dynamic and thriving space. It comprises of 1.9 million square feet of space that is designed for 16,000 people to live and work in the area. With regular community events, the goal is to create a community, which includes local eateries, bars and pubs, on-site shops and a private medical practice.
The outside space of Wellington Place benefits from a network of wide, pedestrianised boulevards and landscaped gardens. These traffic-free routes encompass the development’s centrepiece, the historic Tower Square, which is an appealing green space for all to enjoy.
Sustainability is an important feature of Wellington Place, as is the environmental, social and economic impact of the site. All of the buildings combine low-carbon design with state-of-the-art technology, creating energy-efficient offices that meet the demands of modern businesses. This will help companies to minimise their carbon footprint, and save money by decreasing energy usage. Additional ways to reduce environmental impact and enrich the local community include providing greener travel incentives, like discounted public transport and free bike hire. The site is also close to public transport in Leeds, including the central train station.
Hoard-it’s involvement as part of the construction of phase 1 and 2 of the Wellington Place development included:
A mix of 2.4M & 3M high construction site hoarding systems, Heras provision, pavement protection mats, Wates corporate colours and powder coated steels & gates.
