Morgan Sindall Construction and Chesterfield Borough Council joined forces to celebrate the positive impact a new Jewson branch will have on the local community. Jewson is one of the largest builders merchants in the UK, with nearly 500 branches located across the country.
Hoard-it installed 200LM timber hoarding panels, and 200LM anti-climb fencing, with 7M vehicle gates and white powder coated outer steels and gates. This will protect the site and the local area during construction. Hoard-it also provided the signage for Morgan Sindall Construction.
The site of the new £4.4 facility was attended by representatives from Morgan Sindall Construction, Jewson, Chesterfield Borough Council and Pagabo.
As part of the project in Chesterfield, Morgan Sindall Construction has been working with Chesterfield College on a programme of activities to show students the opportunities that are available if they chose a career in construction. This has included virtual talks on the work at the new Jewson branch in Chesterfield.
There have also been a number of programmes to develop job opportunities for local job seekers, as well as university students and recent graduates. By working with the local council, as well as further and higher education institutions, the construction industry wants to ensure that employment opportunities are mapped with skills initiatives, so that it matches local needs.
