Bringing Grease The Live Experience to Birmingham

After Brand-it, a subsidiary of Hoard-it, previously collaborated with Secret Cinema in 2022 on their Bridgerton experience in London, they were keen to work with us again on their latest live experience, Grease.

Secret Cinema run live experience events, creating immersive versions of popular films and TV shows. Attendees are able to explore the world and interact with original stories being told by actors, where the sets and costumes are carefully recreated to match the specific environment. With over 15 years of experience Secret Cinema events are incredibly popular and in the past they have recreated cinematic experiences for Guardians of the Galaxy, Casino Royale and Blade Runner.

The new Secret Cinema live experience is based on the popular 1970s musical, Grease, which starred Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. Attendees will be transported back to the 1950s and as part of this Hoard-it will be using their hoarding panels and graphics to set the mood. The team worked on the gateway entrance to the live experience, with 33 metres of branded hoarding products to help transport fans back to the summer of 1959.

The event ran for three weeks and took place during July and August of this year, at Birmingham’s NEC. The Hoard-it and Brand-it team are experts in creating a branded hoarding solution to meet the customer’s requirements and it was essential that the entrance to the experience felt on brand with everything inside the event space. A map was recently released which gives attendees a taste of what to expect when they arrive. It also shows the branded entrance space that the teams worked on.

Greg Guppy, Director at Hoard-it said, “It was a pleasure to be able to work with Secret Cinema again on their latest live experience event in Birmingham. They always go the extra mile to make sure that fans have an incredible time, and the whole team at Hoard-it was excited about playing a part in welcoming people to Grease: The Live Experience by creating a graphic-rich entrance area.”
