Anglia Ruskin University

A new phase of construction recently began at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in Peterborough. As part of this project, Hoard-it delivered over 150 metres of hoarding panels to the university. Representatives from the partners developing the university, the Combined Authority, Peterborough City Council and ARU, joined the main contractor, Morgan Sindall, on site to celebrate the milestone.

A second teaching building incorporating a ‘Living Lab’ science facility is being built. This will be a publicly accessible, interactive science facility and education space. It aims to engage and inspire residents and visitors in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Students will be able to engage the community in their research, embedding work at the university in the community.

The second teaching building will also help realise the ambition of the campus as a new cultural attraction for Peterborough, and a centrepiece within a new University Quarter.

Hoard-it supplied and installed a hoarding solution at the site on behalf of Morgan Sindall. This included hoarding panels with site graphics that showed pedestrians an artist’s impression of the finished building. The university branded di-bond panels included an anti-graffiti lamination and a sneak peak window, allowing pedestrians to see the progress of the construction project.

Hoard-it and Brand-it supplied the construction site with the following:

Supply and installation of 163lm of ALL WHITE site hoarding, 1x 6m vehicle gate MESH & 1x 5m Vehicle Gate CLAD & 1x pedestrian gate mesh SLIDER. Installation of the timber hoarding panels and gate took 5 days.

The supply and installation of the site graphics included:

• 15 of 3mm di-bond panels, digital single sided, 1320 x 2440mm, including Batons with anti-graffiti lamination
• 18 of 18 off – Headers & Kickers – 150 x 2440mm – digital Single Sided with anti-graffiti lamination
• 1 off – 10mm Optically Clear Polycarbonate Panel
• 1 off – 3mm di-bond panels – digital single sided – 1220 x 2440mm with anti-graffiti lamination
• 1 off – 10mm Optically Clear Polycarbonate Panel
• 1 off – 3mm di-bond panels – digital single sided – 1220 x 2440mm with anti-graffiti lamination
